TAYLOR NAYON KANG

Taylor Nayon Kang is a music composer and pianist with experience in both the gaming and classical music industries. With a passion for creating captivating soundscapes, Taylor has made a significant impact in the field of music composition, earning recognition for her talent and dedication to her craft.

As the Music & Sound Director at SKYWALK in South Korea, she has demonstrated her skills by composing original music and designing sound effects for popular games. Notably, she has contributed to the captivating background music and sound effects in "Cut the Rope: Blast," as well as played a significant role in creating the background music for the social network game "My Home." Moreover, she has composed the Winter Collection Album and the Annual Anniversary Albums, which were released alongside the game "My Home."

Her talent and versatility are further showcased in her composition for the trailer of the game, "Yumi's Cell." Additionally, she has composed background music and sound effects for an adventure game, "Mirror City," a healing game, "Whale In The High (WITH)," and webtoon game series, "Get it Beauty, Internet Novel, Mirror City Prequel," which are from the app "OROR Episode" by Kakao. All of these were released in 2023.

Her composition for "Hello Hero: Epic Battle" is set to be released in late 2023.

Taylor transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Music with a special emphasis on Film and Video Game Scoring. Prior to that, she honed her skills at The Juilliard School in New York City, majoring in Classical Piano. Her dedication to her studies has been recognized through prestigious scholarships, including the Berklee World Tour Scholarship and the Edna Reifsnider Scholarship at The Juilliard School.

With a wide range of expertise, Taylor excels in music composition and orchestration, showcasing her ability to craft immersive and evocative musical pieces. Furthermore, her proficiency in piano performance has granted her numerous opportunities to captivate audiences around the world.

Taylor's musical talent has been acknowledged through various awards and prizes. She has achieved notable success in competitions such as the Friday Woodmere Music Club Young Artist Competition, where she secured 1st prize, and the LISMA International Music Competition, where she earned 3rd prize. Taylor has also been recognized in her home country of South Korea, with prizes in competitions such as the Chopin Competition, the Kukmin National Paper Music Competition, and the Korean Chamber Orchestra's National Music Competition.

In addition to her achievements as a composer and pianist, Taylor has graced prestigious venues with her performances. She has showcased her talents as a guest artist at the IBK Hall in Seoul Arts Center, performed solo piano improvisations at David Friend Recital Hall in Boston, and presented captivating recitals at renowned locations such as Paul Hall at The Juilliard School and Großer Saal at Leipzig Hochschule.

Taylor has also participated in esteemed music festivals, including the Aspen Music Festival in 2013 and 2014, as well as the Euro Music Festival in Leipzig from 2008 to 2011 and in Prague from 2005 to 2007.
